SENSORIELLE SPA INTRODUCES NEW ALTERNATIVE WELLNESS TEAM
(AYURVEDA, ACUPUNCTURE AND CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE)
Boulder, Colorado- Sensorielle Spa announces a new Alternative Wellness Team, offering Acupuncture, Ayurveda, and Chinese Herbal Medicine to complement their clients’ existing wellness regimes.
Alternative medicine encompasses a variety of treatments that work to address existing conditions, increase general wellness, and prevent future illness. The goal of the practitioners at Sensorielle is to guide their clients in wellness practices that they can incorporate into their daily lives, which in combination with treatments and consultations at the spa create a lifestyle that nourishes the body, mind and spirit.
Acupuncture, a common complementary treatment to Western Medicine, works with the nervous system and energy meridians in the body to restore health by removing energy imbalance by using small needles placed along meridian lines to clear areas of blocked chi (a vital energy that flows through the body). Acupuncture is used in conjunction with Chinese Herbal Medicine to provide all around wellness. Chinese Herbal Medicine has been used for centuries to restore the balance of energy to a patient and correct imbalances in the body to maintain health and prevent future illness.
Stefanie Pitthan-Garcia – Licensed Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbologist, Licensed Massage Therapist
Stefanie Pitthan, Acupuncture and Massage
Stefanie began her training in 2001 in Chinese Medicine at Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she also discovered the wonderful practice of yoga. Due to various circumstances, her path through Chinese Medical School wound its way through San Diego, California and then finally in Boulder, Co.
Stefanie says she is moved by the basic tenet of Chinese medicine; the principle of “do no harm”. On many levels this philosophy has changed her life.
“I believe that it is a powerful style of medicine that can genuinely transform your health. I am passionate about women’s health, but also the process of pregnancy and motherhood for women. I am skilled in working with athletes through massage and furthering the results with acupuncture. I prefer a more gentle needling style, while still maintaining powerful results.” says Stefanie.
Ayurveda originated in India thousands of years ago and emphasizes a lifestyle of preventative health. Meaning “Science of Life” in Sanskrit, the system focuses on three main energetic types: Vata, Kapha and Pitta, keeping the body healthy by maintaining a balance through boosting the immune system, reducing stress and eating foods that are specifically beneficial to each energy type.
